After having Chad Cribbins on for a two part special about his experience raising investment on Seedrs, we say goodbye to him (for now) with this 60 second podcast where he outlines three pieces of startup advice for any aspiring entrepreneur.

If you feel like 60 seconds is too long, here’s a brief summary of Chad’s advice for anyone considering starting their own business.

  1. Prepare

Put cash away, get your finances in order. Most things will end up taking twice as long as you think.

  1. Use your network

When you start out it’s unlikely you’ll have much of a budget. During this time when money is scarce, lean on your friends and call in favours. Build and nurture your relationships and figure out ways to make it happen.

*note that this doesn’t mean tricking people into doing loads of work for you with no reward.

  1. Persistence is key

Keep going. Everyone’s going to tell you why your startup is a bad idea. Hard work, passion and persistence can get you a long way.
